How to recycle them

  • Buildings are made from various different materials, many of them can be recycled, such as metal, wood, glass, etc. we should recycle these materials accordingly.
  • Architectural salvage yards may take some items for reselling.
  • Many building materials can be reused, such as bricks and wood.
Composting

Composting is the decomposition of materials that originated from animals and plants. Some examples of these organic materials are plant trimmings, vegetable cuttings, eggshells and teabags. The composting process produces a dark, crumbly matter and these can be used as fertiliser in garden soil.
Computers

Some non-profit organisations collect electronic equipment including computers and printers, either for reuse or for de-manufacture and recycling. Recipients pay nothing for the equipment or buy it at a heavily discounted rate. Developing countries benefit most from these schemes
Electrical equipment

  • Most electrical equipment can be reused or broken down into parts.
  • If the electrical equipment can still work, we should donate it to charity.
  • Always try to repair items rather than throwing them away, and others may find a use for the item when you no longer want it.
Furniture

We should donate furniture that still can be used to charity, schools, community centres, friends or neighbours.
Glass

We can recycle glass by putting them in the appropriate recycling bins. We also must wash the bottle or jar before putting it into recycling bins. We should also reuse glass whenever possible. Jars can be used as small containers and bottles can be used as vases.
Metal

We can recycle metal by putting them into the appropriate recycling bins. We must make sure drink and food cans made of metal are clean before recycling them. However, metallic plastic film, such as chocolate wrappers, cannot be recycled.
Paper

We can recycle paper by putting them into the appropriate recycling bins. We also can reuse paper around the home as scrap paper or packing material. Envelopes can also be reused. We should also set our printers to print on both sides of the paper. Furthermore, we can also buy recycled paper.
Plastic

We must clean the plastic bottles before recycling them. We should also buy plastic bottles in bulk whenever possible to reduce packaging waste.
Textiles

We can donate still usable but old clothes to charity. Old clothes can be used to make other textile items, such as cushion covers or cleaning cloths.
Vehicles
Up to 80% of a vehicle can be recycled. We should try and fix our vehicles instead of throwing them away. We should also sell unwanted vehicles.
